“Forgotten traces in the Forest.” A popular science documentary movie.

The movie presents the results of works related to the research on the cultural (archaeological) heritage in the Polish part of the Białowieża Forest, carried out in 2016-2019.
In 2019, the HIROX 3D digital microscope was used for 2D and 3D measurements of selected surfaces and objects as part of archaeological (excavation) research in the field and in the office.

In 2016, the first round of research entitled “Inventory of cultural heritage” in the Polish part of the Białowieża Forest as part of the project “Assessment and monitoring of changes in the state of biological diversity in the Białowieża Forest on the basis of selected natural and cultural elements”. The research was conducted by the Consortium, led by the Forest Research Institute / IBL, in cooperation with the Institute of Archeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The years 2017-2019 is the second round of research entitled “Inventory of cultural heritage” in the Polish part of the Białowieża Forest as part of the project “Assessment and monitoring of changes in the state of biological diversity in the Białowieża Forest on the basis of selected natural and cultural elements – continuation”. At that time, the consortium was IBL (leader) and the Hereditas Foundation.

On April 6th, 2021 there was a premiere of the movie “Forgotten traces in the forest” on the YouTube channel of the State Forests.
